Question

I'm getting a WRX STi3 V-Ltd wagon soon which has brand new S03's on the back and shagged S02's on the front. These will be replaced for me by the time I get it and the choise of tyre is mine. So any advice please. It will be driven quite hard (you wouldn't expect anything else?) and it is on standard rims with 205/50-15. thanks

Sorry typo 205/50R16

You would be much better off with SO2's, although officially they are supposed to be discontinued? and are hard to find. Also you may find it difficult to pick them up for 15" rims (more common for 16 or 17"). I am lucky enough to be able to get hold of them still in 215/40/17.
SO3's although supposedly progress/new design are not nearly as good in the wet, not as progressive and tend to tramline, certainly on 17" rims anyway.
However, if you are stuck for choice they will hold up OK compared with alot of the competition.
Better still put on 17" rims. That really will up your grip levels with decent tyres!

I had to replace tyres on my previous car about 3 months ago. They had S02's on them, and i couldn't find a replacement set at all.

Ended up with S03's, and was hugely disapointed.

Car just didn't feel the same, at times it almost felt very loose, sort of wandery (sp). Sometimes it felt like you were driving with soft tyres.

Mine were 205/50x15 (not on a scoob though)

SO2s are now discontinued.

New RE050 (seen as the replacement for the SO3) currently being launched.
