I am going to order a set of 17" OZ Super leggeras tomorrow
from Halfords for £880 with rubber.
As i would like toyo's , i can only get 215/40/17.
I would have liked 205/45/17, but toyo dont do them.
I have an MY98 wagon, and i know that either size will fit, but i
thought that the 45 would give my rims a little more protection.
Has anyone had any trouble with potholes and 215/40/17 getting damaged rims ?
I could always use different tyres in 45.
Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks
Greg.

215/40 17 should be fine. What about the F1 tyre, it has a rim that protects the edge of the alloy, available in the same size as the Toyo.
Incidentally what colour 17 Oz Super L's are you getting from Halfords, gold, silver or anthracite?

They are race silver.
But they are also doing the rest of the range.
My car is red and i dont think gold wheels would go (yuk)!
Halfords are doing a 20% off deal till the end of jan.
Seems too good too miss.
I will have to wait for the wheels though. The suppliers
(motorsport wheels) are out of stock in 17".
I went to the motorsport show at the nec today and no one could
match the deal.
Thanks for the help.
Greg.
