Depends how worn the other tyre is. If it's like new you might get away with fitting a new one.
If it's worn your probably better changing both and keeping the old one as a spare.
Diffs are expensive if you screw them up!!

I'd be interested to know this too.
Just knackered a fairly new 17" Bridgestone SO3 on a pothole. It had 6mm of tread left If I put a new SO3 (8mm tread?) on the other side will the difference is rolling radius cause any problems?

I wouldn'thave thought it would make any difference whatsoever. If it did there would be a big warning in the handbook and everyone would be obsessed about measuring the circumference of their tyres.

Diffs are meant to slip, but I have heard it mentioned that if viscous ones (centre diff) have to slip for a long time they might get hot etc. As someone said there would be a HUGE warning in the handbook if this was an issue. HOWEVER in the absence of anyone here knowing, play it safe and flog your old tyres to us trackdayers!

""so i can have 2 worn ones on the back and 2 new ones on front?""
should be ok i think its just bieng towed (front off floor ,back not & the like )that will ***k it big time
If you mismatch tyres too badly on same axle i.e.tread deapth/compound etc they are a positeve danger in wet on brakes (with no abs)
