My left front tyre has the tread peeling off like a remould.This is only visible from the reverse side of the wheel. Luckily my car was in for some work and this was spotted while on the ramps.The tyres are on 18 inch superlegg's new 8mth's ago and 6000 miles max.In every other respect they have been great with plenty of tread left and wearing evenly.They have definitely not been fouling anything but there is a perfect 360 split all the way around the circumference of the tyre just before the tread begins! Has anyone else suffered similar problems?

Sounds like a manufacturing fault? You must be very lucky, most folk would probably have found this when it gave up and put them in a field!!
If it were mine, they'd go straight back to the dealer who sold them to me!

I will but always more difficult when you buy on the net.I have to take a digital photo of the fault and E-mail it.Needed an excuse to buy one anyway.

What size Toyo's exactly and how long gad you had them? What Scooby type are they sat on?

They are T1-S 215/35 ZR18 about 8 mth's old on an MY01 with Eibach spring lowering kit.The 3 other tyres are fine and all have nice even wear including the one with the problem.
