Question

Got two dodgy sidewall due to kerbing and now nail in another. Time for a new set me thinks...

Any good online places, blackcircles site doesn't seem to work... Kwik Fit said they 'may' match internet prices so who is the cheapest around?

They recommended the Michellin and quoted £180 per tyre all four for £600. Not too bad I guess... I didn't pay much more for the wheels and toyos though

What is the SN favourite tyre these days?
Anyone experience the Bridgestone SO4s?
Stick with the Toyos?
Try the Michellin?

I've been quoted £325 all up for four Toyo Proxes 215/40 17" at Motorsport wheels in Leeds.

Rich,
try mike stokes in ashley road, not the other branch, you'll get a better deal at the poole branch, or, I got my 17' ones from protyre, in the bristol depot though, haven't tried the poole one.
if you tell the guy at mike stokes that you were recomended, he may well do a good price, you could always pay cash too, that might help!!!!
Anyway, are you coming to this big meet at longleat? let me know if you are, I should be able to get some passes!!!!
Ron.

I always try Bathwick, they are usually the cheapest round here, will be trying the usual MS (thanks RON for tip), Protyre but with it happening on the Saturday evening the only people open on the Sunday were Quickfit

QuickFit quote the Toyo as being a budget tyre!
HaveToyos on currently and to be honest there were getting better and better

Will post the results later.

Well after numerous phone calls, Bathwick were good at 488. Tyre land are better at 475 and KwikFit now say they'll do it for 465.
I am not sure I can be arsed to carry on this game.... Each one chips a bit more off. I can't be far off them not making anything now... Where do you think the bottom line is 450? 425?

This is for 4x 215/40/17ZR Michelin Pilot Sports.

So far tried Planties mate, tyres northampton, bathwick in Poole/Pokedown/Branksome, Tyre land in Poole, KwikFit in Bournemouth/Charminster/Poole, Micheldever, Protyre in Poole, Mike Stokes in Poole, Blandford Tyres and a few online such as mytyres.net and blackcircles.

This is so stupid, I now have a kwik fit price matching another kwik fit!

not to annoy you, but they will still be making ****loads on them.

Just as an example, got my boss some michelin pilot sport 225/45 zr 17 for his saab aero, from my brother in law, £100 each fitted incl vat. He still had to show a profit on them or he gets its wotsits chopped off. He said that his company (large wholesaler) made £15 per tyre before vat and fitting

Yeah I know but there will be a limit where they really wont go much lower and I think I am near it. I reckon another 30-40 maybe but I am getting fed up with it now.
Maybe I need to find a girl whos dad runs a tyre company...

I am looking at 115 per tyre all in now, paid more than that before at Micheldevers for 205/50/16s so am fairly happy.

(Still waiting for Kwik Fit to come back to say whether they will do it for £450 though...)

Protyre (aka Michedever ) weren't that cheap and didn't want to do a deal on 4
I don't want to drive to Bristol on a spacesaver either plus I need it done by Saturday... I wanted Michelin too this time.
