Following on from stupid idea 01 (Diy Fmic..)
Has anybody any thoughts on using two calipers on each side at the front?

It's a sound principle - I'm certain it's been done on a number of racing cars, having a leading and trailing caliper. More unsprung weight, but better braking.
Might be a bit of an issue attaching them!
Also remember, more pots doesn't necessarily equal more braking power...

David,
I would argue that a single AP4/6 pot caliper (per wheel obviously ) would be better than two Subaru calipers. They are quite heavy and I'm sure the increase in unsprung weight will far outweigh the increase in braking performance.
In short, don't be silly man, idea 02 is a no go-er

Dont they do it on some bikes??
Smaller discs, but two complete sets to increase braking force.
Go on David! we need another DIY thread.

Not such a daft idea, I'm sure some of the big modern Bentleys have twos calipers on one disc, so you'd be in good company, trouble is, you'd need exceptional quality discs, to cope with the extra heat, I'm sure it could work though.

f1 cars might not do it but Im sure some of the btcc cars used to... Water spray for the discs??
Im allready running 4pots with braided lines, but I think ap's are overpriced for what they are... Was thinking of something like a cast iron disk as some can glow red and survive...
Supid Idea 01 may be followed up by buy fmic kit..
oh and whats this unsprung weight bollox mean in the real world..
