Fitted my STI pedal set to MY96 last week, look superb 
Had a little black plastic bit, anyone know what this is for as I couldn't work out where it went.
Anyway, might be swapping car over for an O1WRX, will the STI Pedal kit fit straight on without drilling etc?

The 01WRX and old shape pedals have exactly the same fittings therefore you should be able to put them on - but the WRX has some nice looking metal pedals anyway (matt silver with black rubber studs)

The pedals on the WRX aren't bad but after spending £80 on the STI jobbies only 1 week ago (before I decided to trade up) I'd like to keep them.

As the fittings are exactly the same you can fit the WRX pedals to the old shape, so you will be able to sell them to an old shape owner once removed if you want to recover some of the cost of your Sti's. Dealer price is something like £80+vat for the WRX set - just a thought 
- the accelerator may cause hassle though because you are still going to need that!

Boost, does the STI accelerator pedal fit directly over the standard metal pedal then (as it did on the MY96 plastic one)?

Not sure about the fitting, just know that the old shape and the >my01 pedals are basically made to the exact same template as I have swapped them over in my car - just different finishes on the surface so I would guess the Sti pedals would fit the same way - you'd better check though as this is not something I have actually looked at! The footrest is also just the same fitting.
