done a bit of research on here and managed to find out i still have the standard td04 turbo, theres also nothing on the ecu to suggest its been remapped so im not convinced it has like i was told, there is however an apexi avc-r which is set up to adjust boost to 1.5 bar, would someone of brought this for a otherwise standard car? is their any point? is it safe to use at 1.5 bar? sorry for all the questions my knowledge is limited and i feel i may have been told a few porkys, other than that im happy with the car i just would like to know where i stand and what ive got!

thanks

Are the td04 ball bearing turbos or sleeve bearing? As iv got a uk300 and it seems to spin for a bit after which makes me think it's ball bearing?

The td04 turbo is a sleeve bearing.

I would suggest that if you have an avcr in there that it hasnt seen a mapper as I can't think of one decent mapper on here that would have recommended fitting it to your car. 1.5 bar of boost is too much and especially too much if unmapped. I would switch the unit off so that it runs wastegate pressure until you can get a mapper to look at it.

I am up at RCM in Hinckley next thursday if you wanted a health check on the rollers there...
