Lots of scoobys in Biggleswade
#1
Hi there,
I'm new to the town - moved in a week ago but have been impressed by the Scooby presence around the town. Seems to be a lot of modded cars around. Is there a club?

Hi Woodster.
Does seem to be the place at the moment. 'Common as muck' one of my friend says. I like to think of it as 'lots of people in the know'. I think it's to do with the 2 garages fairly close by (Baldock, and Oakley nr Bedford). Raises people's awareness. I've seen about 10-12 in Biggleswade and close surrounding area.
I have a silver My99 T**WRX and my friend has a dark blue MY00. We both live in the new estate by the Stratton School. There was a meeting just a weekend ago in Stanford (I couldn't make it).
What do you have (are getting?) and whereabouts do you live?

I agree that there are a lot of people 'in the know'. I own a MY96 which I bought about 3 months ago, from a guy near Biggleswade (I am originally from Stevenage). Has to get a Scooby after driving my father in-laws W reg pro-drive conversion! I've currently added a de-cat exhaust, personalised plate, and jetex filter. I will be lowering it soon with Eibach springs and am thinking of getting an MRO front air dam. I am looking at getting it serviced soon but have been advised that the local dealers are a bit pricy. Do you know of any locals who will work on the car? I live at the sainsburys end of town in the large estate.
Enjoy your car.

I have a list of the servicing costs at Quenby's Baldock on my desk (in Stevenage old town). Which one will it be? They appear keen to help with anything. Have been impressed so far.
Whatever you do don't use Mantles Rover garage for anything - ripoff and poor customer service.
I'll watch out for you. What colour is it?

7.5k miles service is £106.60 and 15k miles is £180.22 both using Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil. 30k service is £378.28 and 45k cambelt service is £390.75. Try www.sidc.co.uk/faq.htm, servicing section for what gets done. It's the same as in the handbook. I would have thought you need the cheapest 7.5k service if your servicing has been done as the dealer states.
You can always phone them on 01462 893255.
