Krakow is particularly nice.

Yes it is a nice place, especially once ya find the "Rally cafe-bar" decorated with bits of WRC cars (McRae's Focus Bonnet, Burnsies Scoob Bumper, Auriols Toyota bumper etc.....)

...i missed that bar!
I'm surprised there are not more Polish rally drivers...the way they can handle their cars at speed on sheet snow. Doesn't bother them in the slightest.

Drove our specially adapted Transit bus length and breadth of Poland in 1991 during four week tour. In those days most cars being driven were clockwork mouse Fiats, smokey Trabants and a few diesel Mercs. We turned down many offers for our Transit (and its contents).
Have been back since (one day trip in 2001) and boy have motoring things changed! pappasmurf, if you have seen them driving well on on sheet snow, I have seen them sliding and drifting on perfectly dry roads and usually in built up areas!
PS My daughter is of Polish ancestry and longs to become a rally driver. This could be genetic!

...i drive a transit for work everyday and couldn't believe that every van out there seems to be a Ford Transit and nothing else....as big a love affair with the thing as the British.
Saw about three Trabants out there...the best one having been involved in a minor shunt in Warsaw. Guy who owned it obviously had a liking for Mitsibushi as he had replaced the Trabant logos with Mitsi ones and had a massive 4" tail pipe sticking out the back.
