Nipper wasting petrol behnd me in his scoob
#1
Last night in Anodover, light green coloured 'M' reg through the 30MPH streets. Lets me get a few yards infront, revs up and tears up behind me, lets me get infront, same again, etc etc etc. Whats that all about. Dont they realise you arent gonna nail it in town? Just cannot be bothered to play with fools like that. Didnt even warrant the scooby wave (I normally give). How do they manage to save enough pocket money to buy the cars in the first place thats what I wanna know?

This wasnt his dads car i dont think. Not even sure if it was a nipper to be honest, but the way he was driving he is sure a nipper in mind if not in body as well. 99% of scoob drivers are the business and im more than willing to open her up a bit on a clear bit of road in safe conditions, but round town in a built up area with kids around .....I dont think so

Obviously this has upset you greatly since you've posted twice under different headings.
There are plenty of people out there like that. But there are responsible people out there too. We are so quick to complain.
Some young people actually work hard and save and amazingly have insurance. I had a 911 when I was 19. I was responsible when driving it and put in 100+ hour weeks to get it.
It is arrogance and narrow mindedness to brand them all in that catagory when it is a few doing it.
I've seen plenty of old ar5eholes on the road too.
In my day...... Back on the rocking chair.
For the record I'm no longer a youngin'. I just believe they shouldn't all be tarred with the same brush.

Please give it a rest with the "he is young, must be daddy's car, no insurance" rubbish!
I could quite easily bang on about extremely 'uneducated' people drinving Imprezas, but I don't!
Young people can legitimately earn money too you know.

It's not just the young'uns (like me - and I drive sensibly). Some old (old as in over 35 - don't take offense ) in an red X-type was doing the same to me. Once again in a 30.
He nearly ran into the back of me when I stopped at a zebra crossing (damn - I wanted my rear bumber resprayed ) I mouthed a few words at him in the mirror, which I'm sure he could lip read.
Can I just make a point here, Some of us young scooby drivers drive perfectly safetly. I worked bl00dy hard to get the damn thing and its really P1ssing me off that I keep getting tarred with the same brush.

Sometimes i dont understand the arrogance of people on here, its a Subaru FFS they are nothing special. If this was the Zonda owners club I could understand the how did a 19 year old afford one posts. But an impreza is a cheap moderate performance car.
You can pick up a decent scooby for 6-9k and even at 20 insure it for just over a grand if you have some NCB. Ive seen 17 year olds spend 10k on a bloody saxo so its no different. You buy a slightly cheaper car and pay the higher insurance
Even woring in a 12k a year job you could afford the insurance and pyments on a scooby if you wanted it enough.
Maybe some young drivers do have rich parents, maybe they just work hard...... Who cares? There are lots of youngsters with far better cars than an impreza, many a time ive seen 18 year olds in ferraris. Life is like that, someone is always better off than you. Theres no point getting jealous about it.
Fact is the impreza despite its following is a relatively cheap, moderate pefomance car and nothing else. Age is irrelevant really, its the owners interest in the car that counts.

sirw you must live in cookoo land im 22 and the wife 25 with 7 yrs ncb paid £1700 for our insurance with a few mods so theres no way a 20 year old is getting just over a grand and i live in the sticks as tvr gary can vouch for so theres no crime and the insurance is still sky high.
