I have money waiting, and can travel.

or how about the bits off one - namely the optical pickup (bit with the laser in).

Wink

Well, sort of.

Of all the places, the tinest of spiders crawled into the optical pickup assembly, made a web, and decided to live in little channel (5mm diameter) which the laser beam is directed to the sensor array.

Result: "CD ERROR" on all discs.

I only happened to find it when I tried the "if its bust - can't make it worse." approach. It was tiny. Thought it was dead until I saw it move under a magnifying glass. I removed it, but in the process had to disassemble the pickup.

But it still won't work as all the focusing is messed up, even though I marked all the screw locations.

So its sorta my fault too - doh!

Wanted: Philips RC026 CD Changer fitted to MY97 scoob

Same changer is fitted as OE on loads of other cars too. Need one as a spider decided to crawl into the laser pickup of all places in mine, no-longer works after I tried to get it out! (did'nt work before cos of the spider anyway)

Midlands area, not wanting to pay much (if any) as the system is fitted to my daily banger (£100 Nissan Sunny)

Scoob has a pioneer system (head, speakers, amps, subs) - like it should have had in the first place.
