Default Recommendations on a new Rad?

Evening guys,

Noticed the other day a bit of steam coming from the left hand side of my rad on the car (as your looking at it) , had 10 mins to look at it this afternoon and I have a leak on the Seam weld near to the bottom of the rad. The steam of seen the other day was it evaporating when dripping onto the manifold.

The rad is an aluminium one , only about 3 year old, think it was an eBay job if I remember. Perhaps not one Of my greatest purchases in hindsight.

Any recommendations on a not too expensive replacement? And I suppose Itd be wise idea to replace the rubber hoses at the same time for samco or something similar, any recommendations there aswell?

Cheers in advance guys

Rob

Have you tried Plumb Centre Rob?

It also might be worth trying Fastrads in Cwmcarn or Ricketts Radiators in Swansea.

Fair one, if it's good enough for them it'll do me. My only worry is my old one developed a crack in the side core, and from what I gather with them it's quite common? Don't want to fit one and it go and lead to hg failure!

Thanks , Rob

Sounds good to me lee, bit as I said, what's the average life expectancy on one, cos I've heard if so many failing, I don't want to run the risk of it bursting or splitting while driving, not noticing, and havving the car overheat or worse.

Cheers mucca

Thanks for everyone's input, I ended up going for an oem rad with 2 year guarantee, I would have likes to have gone down the mishimoto rad road but due to me at a bit of a crossroads ATM regarding whether to keep the car or replace , I didn't want to be spending too much on it.
Cheers again all
