Default Couple of numb nuts questions

Hi guys,

New boy on here, picked up a month ago Blobeye WRX, WR Blue 2003.

Yes I know there is a search facility, but so much to trawl through.

A couple of questions

I want to in the next couple of weeks when I have a little bit of cash (the type the wife doesnt know about) to get a set of mudflaps.

Without spending silly money which are the best to buy for price, fit, looks. I dont want anything to in your face.

Also thanks to Dan for advice, I am looking for a standard recirculating valve, I want to replace the exixsting Blytz dump I have. There are ones on ebay but would rather give a sale to a member here.

Last thing, best place locally for a quality oil filter.

Numb nuts questions over.

Thanks guys

Will

Welcome along

Scoobyworld is your best bet for mudflaps, great quality

I'm sure there will be someone with an OEM recirc valve on here

Indigo GT in Merthyr should have oil filters for you

Hope this helps

I have a spare recirc. from an '03 STi in my garage, perfect condition. Can also sort you out with a quality oil filter, have Mahle & ADL Blueprint ones on the shelf

Search RallyArmour for flaps they make some very nice, not in your face ones if it's what your after.

As for a filter nothing wrong with a Subaru one from your local dealer

I agree Kev, nothing wrong with a Subaru one at all. The only problem is the 50%+ mark-up the dealers (stealers) charge on parts

There are good quality aftermarket filters available (such as Mahle & ADL) which are identical to the Subaru ones for half the price

Or there are members selling them for around £8.50 (inc sump plug washer and delivery) in the members marketplace section.

I am partial to a Blitz Racing Magnetised Oil Filter, they look so good, I really didn't want to fit it

K&N filter and mag plug cost me £10 from the bay. Filter is fitted with a nut shape on the bottom for easy removal.

Mudflaps as recommended.

Where you based mate?

I'd rather go OEM Steve and save the guesswork especially as they can be had 1/2 price if you know where to look.
I'm not knocking your filters Steve but trying to save a pound here and there owning a Subaru is like pissing in the wind, you will end up with a wet leg. Lol

The Mahle ones are made in the same factory and come in the same 'blue' finish as the new Subaru ones Kev

If you cover up the logo's on the side you can't tell the difference if they're side-by-side

I bought RallyFlapz for my EVO and the fit was excellent, think the ones performance creations sell are made by RallyFlapz (as a lot are)

I'd go forge a Forge Re-circ valve if i was u, can pick um up second hand pretty cheap....

Oil filter i'd go OEM
