Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that plate is illegal. Wrong spacing, no BSAU marking & manufacturers name & post code.

Get some proper plates made up & no more grief from the rozzers. It's fecking petty I know but sometimes its better to abide by the law than give them a reason to pull you. Lets face it, driving a scoob is reason enough for some policemen. Merry Xmas!

Dear christ. Law is law. If you want to bend it, expect to get hauled up on it.

As for breath test.. so what? You mention kids names... maybe you'd rather no spot checks and all the drunk drivers let loose on the streets where your kids play?

Get some perspective people.

Well that`s b0llox cos it`s the font size and the spacing that has to be right, not the plate size! W@nkers.

Yea it is an illegal plate fair enough, but there's a damn sight more things they could be doing than wasting their time with crap like that.

It because they know you so well, they just want to pull you over for a catch up chat.

Whilst I am running a slightly smaller plate (but it is BS compliant) I agree withwhat you are saying TT, we all try to bend the law in some small way but then don't moan if you get 'caught'.

In running an 'illegal' number plate you are giving the Police all the justification they need to pull the car over, carry out a thorough check, breathalyze the driver etc etc.

If the rozzers are having a quiet day then they will start picking up on minor infractions just to fill up their activity log for the day, I have to be honest though with all 3 of the Impreza's that I have owned I have never been stopped once.

I never got pulled over in either of mine, maybe because both were very standard looking. I could have been fined for the lack of cats on my classic, but that was a risk I was willing to take & it wasn't running a loud exhaust even though it was running close to 500 bhp.

I agree, we all try to bend the law a bit, but moaning about being caught & calling the feds bent is just a case of throwing your toys out of the pram, grow the **** up!

Wrong. Check the DVLA any legal plate supplier. There are standard sizes.

I dont think people are getting this (well some ) its the ANPR that picks up on your illegal plate, if the lettering or spacing doesnt meet the standards the computer alerts the cops in the car with the ANPR, hence you get pulled and fined.
Easiest way of not getting pulled and fined by an ANPR equipped car (and virtually all traffic cars are fitted with ANPR now), is to have a correctly spaced/lettered number plate

Simples

I dinn't imply that pulling for an illegal plate was bent. In my eyes you are asking for aggro for not/incorrectly displaying a plate.

Ironically i drove without my front plate at all (after fitting FMIC) for some 2 years + without being pulled.

You said (the way i read it anyway) in genreal context that coppers are not bent.

Some, not all, are. FACT.

i agree with above, the minority spoil it for the majority, and i think its just the nature of the car, and as rob legend said about his front plate i drove around for about 6mth with out one, only got a new one because MOT was due
