I need to top up my oil, at the moment its just below the half way marker on the dip stick not sure what oil is in it because my car had a full service when i bought it 10 months ago, what do you think is the best grade to put in it...[img]/confused-smiley-17416.gif[/img]

Will be booking it into Keith price's at the end of may for a service so i will only need a litre which is best..?

Are you sure Glen? I thought 10/40 was the standard oil, i think 5/40 is a little thin, unless the 2.5 uses different oil?

When I got the MY07 RB320 from new, in the boot was a bottle of Shell Helix Ultra 5W 30...In a nice carry case.
This is what Subaru recommended! UK 2.5 ltr

Although I use Silkolene Pro S ester synthetic 5W 40, changed every 6 months!

I use Castrol Magnatec 5W 30 - 56 plate 2.5 ltr STi

I just checked the receipt from Keith Price for the 120k service I've just had, and they used the same Magnatec 5W-30 during the service.

I stand corrected! The 2.5's obviously enjoy a different tipple to the 2.0's. Top marks to Glenn for the prompt and CORRECT response.
