Default SIDC

SIDC say they won't be producing TRUE GRIP mag for the forseeable future..that's the only reason I joined up.
Does this site offer something similar?

"Total Impreza" is the new kid on the block.

To be fair people did not contribute and there was a lack of content. If it saves some pennies and keeps SIDC afloat then nevermind.

It's true that the winter edition of True grip did not get to print due to the costs.
However all the information that you need is available on the forum along with various write up's.
If anyone want to contribute to the forum and have an article published on the web site feel free to hit the key board.
Like everything else the rescission has hit membership so income is down hence the temporary cutbacks.

As for "RIP OFF"

Its up to you to make the most of the club and what it has to offer, I get my membership back and some using the club discounts for car insurance, ferry travel, parts etc etc.
With the club I've also been to a few WRC rounds, Corsica, Spain and GB and enjoyed VIP with the SWRT and Prodrive teams trust me they treat you like one of the team
You can also take part in track days all over Europe at very high class venues.
As for the shows I attend I get discounted tickets, and somewhere to park up safe, IMO that's worth the membership alone.
But the most important bit are the people, I've met some fantastic friends through the club

So not quite the rip off you stated

Might I suggest you get a little more involved then you might feel not quite so harshly done by.

Edited to add the club is not perfect but the club has some great people that work very hard at keeping it all together. Please also note that these people DO NOT get paid they give there time freely because they want the club to strive to become as successful as possible with the added shared passion of what its all about, The Subaru Impreza.

Guys

True Grip is not dead yet but we couldn't commit to something we simply could not afford in its current format
Total Impreza has, through no fault of its own, has diluted the advertising income at a time when people are cutting back
Costs have also risen in production

We are currently looking at alternative companies to produce the magazine who are currently claiming to be cheaper but we need to look at these options in detail before committing

I will keep you posted and in the meantime we will keep the website updated

Please feel free to contact me if you have any further queries

TBH I am happy with SIDC in general but just disappointed not receive any more copies of True Grip.

The discounts and tickets available are more than worth the subscription fee alone and I look forward to the coming events.

Just to drag up an old post but for those of you that did feel you lost out with the short term loss of True Grip, have a look here http://www.sidc.co.uk/truegrip/

Enjoy!
