Hey folks...

returned home this week to find an invite to the SIDC AGM. I've been a member of the SIDC for two years now but have never attended the AGM...this year I probably will.

It appears there are not too many nominees for the various club management positions at present. Can anyone from the club committee expand upon this list so we can all see who is in the running for taking over the various tasks in for the next year of the clubs life ?

I was quite surprised to see that my good friend Stef was not in the list of nominees for club event organiser. I have known Stef now for nearly two years and he is at just about every track day that I go to. He is also responsible for organising many non-SIDC events which have helped to bring the Scooby community closer together, all of which he has done all off of his own back in his own time. Of recent Stef has helped to organise the Trax 2000 stand and track sessions which shows dedication to the club.

Stef is widely known amongst other SIDC members and I would like to nominate him the for position of club events organiser…that is…if he doesn’t have a problem with his.

Does anyone else share my views on thinking this would be a good idea ?

Ian G.

PS. Maybe we should also have an official club photographer…anyone interested ?

Any persons wishing to stand for nomination should let the club secretary know in writing, as soon as possible.

Before nominating someone, please check that they wish to stand and are able to attend committee meetings etc.

Committee meetings are normally held in Essex, as this is central to the current committee. Although none of the current committee draw expenses for attending meetings, this would be allowable under the clubs constitution.

Being on the committee is all about giving and there are no benefits.

Its your votes that decide who runs the club.

Thumbs up

Thanks for responding Pete.

I will make sure I send an offical nomination in writing to the club address.

Lets hope the new committee (when appointed) give the SIDC yet another fantastic year.

Subaru ownership wouldn't be quite the same without the club. I am sure we have all made a great number of like-minded friends throughout its existence.

Regards.

Ian

I agree - the Club is a great asset to us all. Many members though only really benefit from reading (the excellent) True Grip magazine. For this reason, I think the post of editor should be given the recognition of a club officer position.

As a fully paid up SIDC member, I would also like to second that nomination, but I won't be able to attend for the same reason as it clashes with the RSCOC National Day (deliberate ploy...? ).
