Default got cash to spend

Hi everyone i have just managed to get some spare cash. got about £1500 to spend though may be able to talk wife in to letting me spend more, just means not eating for a couple of weeks.looking to get some more power. any ideas how i could spend it? really dont know what to spend it on to get best results? Got a standard 06 sti at the moment though it does have a racebox and gfb dump valve though im not sure if that makes any difference.
Any help would be appreciated.
cheers.

Prodrive springs (will lower car about 15mm), Prodrive suspension settings, Brake pads (Mintex, Padgid, ect), Goodridge braided brake pipes, Dot 5.1 brake fluid.

This will give a all round increase in the cars performance (and enough money left for a holiday in the sun).

I would agree with Dean, 3" de-cat with a high flow sport cat to keep it MOT legal and a re-map should give you 40-50 extra bhp!

Could cost anything between £1200 and £1500 but if you get in on a group buy you should be left with enough money to change the springs, if you do the work yourself and avoid labour costs, and if your wife allows a little extra, stump out for a rear anti roll bar for around £100ish, the only thing i havnt done to mine yet.

This should give you a good all round improvement with a noticable difference in handling and performance, although uprated pads and possibly discs would be a good idea with the extra power, but only if your budget can stretch to it as the standard ones are not all that bad really.

As you already have Brembo's then uprate the pads, brake fluid and disc's.
A re-map is always good but get the exhaust and panel filter changed first. Rear ARB's and drop links will be of benefit to the handling.

Pads, brake fluid and filter are easy and if you need a hand there is plenty of willing volunteers to help. Get down to Prospeed in Cardiff for the exhaust pipe and sport cat, tailor made to your choice and sound. Charlie is a top bloke

The Dump Valve does not do much to the car. Loads of stories and theories but "chav valves" are not really a necessity.

Once you have done this it may be worth getting some gauges to keep an eye on the engine and turbo. HID are a good upgrade too.

I agree with Blue Dragoon on the exhaust, Prospeed built mine and it is great quality, many of us have used him, top bloke!

As for re-maps, just use one of the few big names in mapping the Impreza, mainly Jolly Green Monster, who did mine, Andy Forrest or Bob Rawle, they all know their stuff but there are others out there. As said, there are often group buys on here for mapping

Bob mapped my car as part of a previous GB, he is a top man and very knowledgeable, he was a great help to me.

I would look at a sports cat (Scooby401 is selling one), change your panel filter/induction kit, re-map, uprate your braking system with new pads, dot 5.1 fluid and braided brake hoses, fit lowering spring (Prodrive if you can find them at a good price), Whiteline rear anti-roll bar and bushes, uprated rear anti roll bar links and a steering geometry alignment.

My £1500 or so would be spent on full revolution 3" sportcat system, walbro fuel pump, uprated panel filter, uprated spark plugs 7's, and an Andy Forrest mapping session, next would be an uprated rear anti roll bar, sort the brakes out when they need replacing and if you want to go really fast, a blue light

Dont want to rattle anyones cage, but powerstation are well over priced and from personal experience i have found the service to be average IMHO.

For less than £1200 you can get the same thing so you are paying £300+ for a recipt with Powerstation on it

Just dont thint they are worth it and with the group buy a Bob rawle re-map is around £500 with the vat!!!

Have to agree with Ian - Bob Rawle remap £500 and a Prospeed exhaust around £650 plus a K&N panel filter around £40 and you are there.
