Default Just Bought my Ticket for the Rollercoaster

Well gents its done

Just got back from puttting a deposit down on a 2001 (Y) Classic Turbo 2000 saloon in Mica Red

The car has had one owner from new and its done 67,000 miles but has a full subaru service history and is in cracking condition. Even got what i wanted for the Sport as well as getting the garage to do another service, new mot and a full new set of Brake discs and pads all round. Think ive done rather well

must admit tho am wondering if im going to regret leaving the relative safety of Sport ownership, paniced a bit earlier wondering if i did the right thing.

then i remember the test drive and the turbo coming on song on the lanes i took it for a test drive on

so if i can make it on wednesday i shall be looking for ideas of what needs doing first. More importantly where can i get these south wales scooby's stickers from then

Cheers

Ian

Good choice, the Mica red is very nice. The uk car is a pretty good car, just needs a few tweeks!!! Pop over and have a chat at the meet, I've got the very loud Dark blue one with a FMIC, Dean also has a Uk car which is silver with a simaler spec as mine. we should be able to guide you.

What exhaust has it got? I've a Magnex 6x4 oval for sale if you fancy a nice deep burble.

You'll be using the bright switch everyday!!!! Not

The only time you'll regret it will be when you look at your bank or credit card statments. But it's all worth it when your driving it.

Cheers guys
when it comes to spending its already making my wallet go screaming for cover , my insurance is just about up on the sport so i need to ring around for that, dont suppose anyone here uses that gary moulson of keith michaels INS, seen a lot of positive threads about their quotes.

also since the car is totally standard then cat1 gubbins and Tracker is probably on the cards. Any good suggestions are appreciated with regards to this and insurance.

Cheers

It'll already have a Cat 1 alarm as standard, some insurance companies require a tracker some don't. A Plan always seem to get good reviews on here, Elephant gave me quite a good quote.

Very pleased for you Ian Red Mica is very nice
Try A-PLAN and Keith michals the latter gives discount for SIDC members and both are mod frendly if you want to go down that road
One peice of advice from me is to enjoy the car as it is and if you do go down the road of modding take your time and think about it get as much info as poss as not all so called mod's do what it says on the tin.

Alright Ian,

I've got virtually the same car as you; a totally standard X reg Uk Turbo 2000 in Dark Mica Red.

Try A-Plan and Greenlight. Neither need any additional security (the car is already Cat 1 as std), and were good prices. Even for valleys addresses. A-Plan were £50 cheaper than Greenlight after a couple of rounds of bartering, but Greenlight are open to track days, A-Plan aren't.
