please not my boy
my wife phoned me at 18.30 saying that they rushed my boy into hospital of suspected meningitis ive just got back in and i'm still none the wiser he has most of the simtoms and they are a little concerned of is white blood cell thingy if i said that my head was in my hands at the moment it would be an understatement, allso my daughter as been complaining of her eye's so she is having a vigual over her at the mo
all i can say is that i'm so glad i married a nurse because if it was not for her the child would have still been in the house?GP did not even give him calpol
if there is anyone up there give me a break please

As you say thank god you are married to a nurse, the early stages of meningitis are very difficult to spot. I am married to a nurse who works in intensive care with small babies, and she sees a lot of cases where time was the issue.
Our thoughts are with you, but you got there early, keep telling your wife that 'she did very well'. The very best of luck to you and your family.

good news they gave him the all clear but they not sure what he as picked up. he's on main line antibiotics and he does seem to be feeling better
he's had colds and things in the past but nothing like this
he had all the signs even down to the red blotchy marks that don't disappear
thanks for all the concern that you good people showed
did not know what to do last night talk about despair
thanks again all

Glad all is well, I can't begin to imagine how concerned you must have been. Things like this really put into perspective what really is important - at the end of the day a happy healthy family is what really counts.
All the best
