Default Gauging interest....

Afternoon all, due to a potential serious change in my circumstances I'm having to consider selling the car . I have only owned for 2 months but as its the toy that's worth the most its the most likely to be sold. I am not in any rush to sell as hopefully there will be no need to.

Some of you have seen the car in the flesh so know what it is.

2005 wrx sti spec c type ra.
52000 miles
Imported new by litchfield, original invoice present.
Miltek 2.5 cat back exhaust and remap on import with printout- carried out at power station.
Mot until march 2015
Tax until sep 30th 2014
Recently had full service including uprated Cambelt kit, uprated AA 11mm oil pump and water pump, all genuine belts and filters costing £1600 from three arches.

I Had all of this work done as I was intending to keep as a car of this nature can surely only start going up in price soon.

I will do a comprehensive listing in the for sale section once someone has enlightened me as to how to upload pictures.

I have got a price in my mind as to How much i think it is worth, am just hoping for a few other opinions hopefully in the same ball court as me.

Thanks for your time. Max

Well realistically im going to be advertising for around 15 k ono, I feel this is fair for the spec and rarity of the car. As mentioned above I am not in a rush to sell at present as the cars all paid for.

Was hoping for a bit of input, mainly off those that have seen in the flesh as to pricing etc - and how to put pics up, which seems to have worked

Very good, it works my end

Having driven this car on a few occasions and putting it through its paces, it's safe to say its a fantastic car, in the best colour , Widetrack, and not only being a Spec C, but a Spec C RA, it's as rare as rocking horse $hit. Sounds awesome with the twin scroll when on full song.

I really hope it doesn't come to selling her, but am aware of the situation and if she's gotta go, she's gotta go.

This car has had its major service and wants for nothing, ready to love and enjoy (and I really do hope If you do sell it'll go to an enthusiast who knower what these cars are and will show it some love)

Orite max gutting for you that you have to consider selling her! Personally I would would put it up for around the 15,000 mark with little to no movement on the price, its worth it all day long in my eyes it looks and sounds amazing but hopefully you wont have to sell up.

Mate,

Scoobynet is the wrong place in all honesty. Pistonheads is a better window but beware of the current practice of dealers buying up Scoob's and selling them on instantly with a few £1000 mark up. eBay may well attract interest from the continent as there is a very good market there with genuine buyers who are willing to travel.

The cash under the nose normally see's the seller bite the bullet and jump in. DON'T DO IT.

It's an awesome car, quite rare and getting rarer and should go to a good home. If I had the cash I would have your hand, eyes and arm off. Try the Type RA site for people who know their stuff too.

Max, I'm sorry to hear your selling her after such a short period, if this come up 8 months later I could well have been persuaded away from a hatch. Hope you get what you want for her fella and it goes to a good home.

Thanks Ian, hadn't thought of the RA site, I won't be doing any jumping in. Hopefully It won't need to go, however I feel best to advertise early as these things can take a while and don't want to leave until last minute. It will only go if I get the right monies.

Thanks Greg, it'd be a shame to go, but as mentioned being the most expensive toy it may not be cost effective to keep with the circumstances, how did them wheels turn out after? Be good to see the colour shade Incase get mine done!!

Max, I'd say put it up for £15500 and be prepared to allow for a minor drop if you need to.

You need to price above your acceptable amount, easier to go down than up.

As I said to Rob and as Ian has said Pistonheads is the best avenue for sale, you will find the buyers are more discerning and know the real value of cars unlike some of the buyers on here who want everything for nothing on the whole.

I understand mate ill most probably be somewhere in the same boat later down the line in life but ill hang on to her till the bitter end lol.

Aww them wheels turned out bad his communication skills where next to none and he had the car an entire week to do the job! I was fuming, they had streaks in the paint, filler wasn't flush and to top it off they where completely the wrong colour he did say he would sort it out for me but I said not to bother in the end so didn't pay him.

So I got the car booked in at Ti22 the 17th this month to have the wheels done and a full detail so she should be looking top notch now the sun is out Its just what next then maybe a new remap or a set of defi's decisions decisions Anyways hopefully you don't have to sell the car otherwise you might have to go back to a supped up diesel

Quite my thoughts ty, however with this nice weather I'm much preferring being out on the bike instead of washing the car to sell! shall just wait and see!

Well haven't lost anything really just a week without the car. 360 is what I have been quoted on the wheels to be done now, they aren't to far away from the wheel specialist and they don't do their alloy refurbs in their place so I have the feeling that they use the wheel specialist I may / probably am wrong though. Will let you know how it all turns out anyways and ill get some pics up.

All the best Greg.

Max,

have a good long hard think about it, I have been down this road about 3 times in the last 18 months, my car owes me nothing now just the justification of 1K a year to keep in the garage taxed & insured which is sometimes hard to justify..!

One thing to keep in mind if you sell it, then change your mind will you ever find another is as good condition or indeed the spec that car has being a limited model.? If it needs to be sold to realise funds well then it has to go… and hope that when things turn around in the future and you’re in the market for another car, some anorak like us is ready to sell their pride and joy

Wise words Leeroy, I think we've all been there trying to justify Impreza ownership at some point, as you know with me, several times over the last couple of years, but just can't lethe it ho, I'll sell my scramblers and other toys before the car goes lol
