Hot! Does this change colors to match the various filters (green, red or blue)?

Simon, does your new monitor use the Subaru select monitor protocol or the much slower OBD?

Edward, our software is a combination of the select monitor protocol and OBD II, it is typically 4 times faster than OBDII.

Simon

Are there going to be any other external temperature inputs other than egt?
A couple of thermocouple inputs for measuring charge temp etc would be very useful.

Also will there be any other aftermarket ecu support other than autronic? Motec maybe?

Cheers

Dan.

Hi Danny, current inputs are:
EGT
Oil Pressure
Oil Temperature
Fuel Pressure

I will look into the possiblity of adding a couple more inputs.
We are always open to suggestions for additional features, thankyou.

Please excuse my ignorance here .... I was looking at a VFD monitor for my MY99 Impreza (pod housing in the cubby hole on top of the dash) .... I take it this is an even better version, and can be mounted in the same way??

May have come along just at the right time!!

Thanks,

Norm.

Hi,

Looks REALY nice

I would realy like a thermocouple input, wideband lamda, hell even an input for an external knock sensor so I can get rid of the knocklink (I know the ecu already has a sensor but I read on here that its not very good?), basicly I would like the unit to replace all gauges and flashy light boxes

Does it have an external alarm output so I could set all the various alarm parameters on the unit and then wire in one red light in my driving vision?

The only other comment I have is it seems the external sensors are VERY expensive, again i am only going on the prices I have seen advertised for your previous products (117 quid for oil presure - I could probably get the whole DEFI guage and sensor for that).

Cheers

Dan

Dan i have one of the older units so you are quite welcome to have a look at its functionality when you pick up the gearbox.

Hi Dan,
At present the new unit has the following:-
Inputs
EGT
MAP (boost)
Oil Temperature
Oil Pressure
Fuel Pressure

Outputs
Shift/Warning light (12v)
Alarm 2
Alarm 3
Alarm 4

We have allowed on the PCB for 2 more analogue inputs and 1 more thermocouple input. Your suggestions have been taken on board
Data monitors will be software upgradeable to take advantage of any new inputs.

With regards to sensors, we can only buy Defi through a third party, we have looked at alternatives but prefer to stay with Defi due to the quality, the oil pressure and temp are standard Defi items so can be bought anywhere, we do however include in our kit the OEM Subaru galllery plug adaptor, instructions, cable ties and a sticker
Please be aware that the Defi shift light is modified by us to run 12v not 5v as per the standard item.

Cool. Thanks for the offer, will take you up on that if I manage to resist buying one beforehand

The PSI guys are bad people, they are now offering their old box at 200 quid! so do I buy the old one at a realy good price or pay double for the flashy new unit? ARghhhh.......

Simon,

All sounds good, thanks for the explanations

Another attraction for me personaly is to keep the other half happy as she hates lots of gauges that apparently "shine in my face at night".
