I did a day there Saturday (and blew my engine up!), I run a 95 WRX with 3inch HKS from the turbo back and standard air box and I failed the 101db static test but came up with 83.1db for the driveby and the limit is 87db! They said that Imprezas often fail the static but are fine with the driveby. They are being very strict at the moment, apparently having trouble with the council! If you fail the drivebys at any point during the day they will pull you from the circuit and not let you back on, no second chances!!!!!

Good to meet you Austen, thanks again for sorting out the discount, it was a top day!

Was it one of your friends that spun in the light coloured Elise at the end of the main straight on the back of the circuit? I think he outbraked himself looking at me in his rearview, if it is your friend let me know as I got it all on camera!

Top day I'm well impressed with Bedford's attitude i thought it was going to be a bit strict with reading all the rules and emails but they got it spot on with a well run day. It goes as being one of the better tracks for track freedom along with Castle Coombe. Drifting and having a bit of fun was actually allowed as long as it was'nt too close to other cars.

Anyway, god knows how many times i spun during the day but at the end of it i was getting used to how the M3 cab handled and being quite predictable once the slide had started and you could manage to wind the lock off quick enough One of my favourites was getting a good slide out of the last corner onto the start/finish straight but i did'nt quite hold it, and spun

Hi Ed,

Great day, nice to meet you! Your car sounded awesome, did you get black flagged for it?? Did the engine problem get worse?? Sorry i didn't get to speak to you more, I tried to speak to so many people, it actually you felt like i spoke to no one!!

I am in contact with most of the elises there, can you post me a link or send me the video, it would be good to see it.

I will organise another soon, so will let you know.

Does anyone know who the red scooby and silver evo were?? They have upset a few people with their antics

I actually think they went a bit too far, it wasn't good for anyone driving near by them

Austen,

Here is the vid:

YouTube - BMW E39 M5 In Car at Bedford Autodrome

Was it you?

I didn't get black flagged, and the slipping clutch went away with a little TLC on track. Sadly as you will see on the vids the M5 brakes are very poor and I was having to brake very early. 6 pots on the way!

Planning on getting an Elise just for a couple months in summer, see you around no doubt.

Ed
