Default Add rear ABR

hi been looking for information on adding a rear ARB to my 03 GX sport but not much help really,
i have found this on demon-tweaks. http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/perfor...-bar-link-65mm

would this be all i need to add one and is 65mm right or is that just the thickness of the bar.

thanks lee

Your link you have posted is for the droplinks rather than the actual rear anti roll bar. As you have a GX itd be worth investigating the size of your current bar. You could get an STI bar as a cheap upgrade both front and rear for the same money as an aftermarket rear

ok thanks as far as i know the Gx doesn't come standard with a rear ARB, so are you saying to look for the standard sti bars rather then the whiteline ones?

Yep thatd be the cheapest upgrade. If your car doesnt come with a rear bar then you need to see if the mounting brackets are there for it also.

Start googling an 03 sti rear anti roll bar images on how its fitted then go look around your own car

No, it's a bit more complicated than that as you don't have anything to mount it to, you have to change just about everything at the back and fit upper mounting brackets as well.

Ask on Impreza sport forum, i'm not 100% on what exactly needs to be done, but they will know.

But I am 100% you can't just bolt one on.

No not really as it's a different movement you want to control.

The arb is do-able, if you can be arsed, I think it's better to fit stiffer springs and enjoy the tail out action.

The sport forum is closed. On the classic you could use a turbo rear arb but no idea on newage. Best way is to check bolt holes were the turbo ones mount to and check your chasis.

and looking at this thread
https://www.scoobynet.com/suspension...bar-links.html

it shows pic of rear of GX, you would also need to replace rear arms as there is no mounting points for the droplinks

so stiffer springs is the easiest solution for you
