Default Unusual Anti roll bar question

Iv got the ARB lying around from my Spec C which IIRC is 21.5mm (When I owned the Spec C I put on a whiteline 24mm adjustable one). Now on my JDM Sti I think the ARB may be 21.5mm or less, not sure.

Anyway, in SpecC ARB, if I were to get the machine shop to pile drill a new hole before the existing hole (on both ends obviously) would this work. So basically shortening the fitting length. Would it still fit onto the car? If it did, would it serve the purpose as a now stiffer ARB?

Any comments or anyone tried this?

Thanks

Try phoning Whiteline and asking them. They are usually very helpful

Well I'm gona give it a go. Iv given it to a friend to drill a couple of holes in it, there's enough space on the flat section nearer the bar, to drill into. Once done will rub some KRust on new holes and paint bar in Brembo gold. Will also get a couple of new poly mounting bushes and then fit. Will update thread once done and see if it affects handling they way I want it to.

Don't tell your insurance company you're doing DIY suspension mods- just in case

Seriously, what's the worst that can happen? If it brakes its not the end of the world

Its ok its Moley, he knows Iv changed just about everything on the car!!

Its already got:

-CDF Anti Lift Kit
-Whiteline uprated steering rack bush kit & strengthened rack mount
-Eibach camber bolts
-Track alignment settings

Still to fit:

-Tein Winding Master Monoflex Coilovers
-Apex Roll Centre ball joint extenders
-Apex Bump steer track rod ends?? (not sure?)
-This modified, stiffer rear 21.5mm ARB (if it isn't stiff enough will just buy a new 24mm adjustable one)

Now on my JDM Sti I think the ARB may be 21.5mm or less, not sure.
It's listed as ST204104S200 - 20mm dia.

By drilling the extra holes you may run into problems with the droplinks unless you use adjustable ones.

If you use the existing ones and increase the angle between bar and link on full suspension movements it may flip.

Thanks Don for info. Would that mean that the adjustable type arb's are longer in length to begin with and that their stiffest setting hole would line up with the std arb hole placement?

Very possible, although not totally certain.

There was the recent Whiteline recall of the adjustable bar for the WRX that was too long and fouling a brake pipe.

I think you would need to fit it and see, just in case.
