Whiteline ARB's
Ok, have bought these on flebay for a good price, unfortunetly the front is 22mm and the rear is 20mm, I had a quick spin and i can feel there is much less undesteer, But as i know the settings should be oposite, rear 22mm front 20mm...
As i was fitting the front one , the drop links are sitting in the kind of strange position.
The advert:
WHITELINE FRONT AND REAR ANTI ROLL BARS, SUBARU WRX STI on eBay, also, Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 25-Feb-09 10:17:51 GMT)
The link position And ARB's:
My questions and the answers from the seller...
Dear pennohrc,
Hi, have recieved the anti roll bars, how come the front one is thicker than the rear one? IT SEEMS LIKE THE FRONT IS 22MM THE RAER 20MM
hi mantas, yeah, if you look at the listing, those are the sizes that i stated, i think it is common that the rear bar isnt so thick, i found this quote on a subaru forum, a bloke wanting advice on a 24mm rear bar : "I would say to not got for such a thick rear anti roll bar, the Scooby is very front heavy and would probably do better having a lighter one. That is, unless you like a very tail happy car."
i found that the car handled superb on corners with this kit fitted. hope this helps, lee
Again..
Dear pennohrc,
Hi Lee, the thing is that on the advert u said the rear is 22mm and the front is 20mm, and this is a very good setup for fast road, on classic scoobs u don't realy need the front one cause the 18mm stock is realy fine, Lee don't know what forum u've seen the kind of settings m8, but it's wrong, the hard front ARB makes u understeer even stronger, unless u combine it with thicker rear ARB & a set of decent tyres, i haven't tryed it yet , but we'll see later on this week. And i guess u can't change the law of physics. Once again m8 , what are the sizes, cause the front looks 24mm and rear 20mm as it is not much thicker of my standart one....
Tnx, Mantas
hi mantas, i cant remember exactly as when i measured these it was over 2 months ago, however i measured them with a digital tool for precise accuracy, they were defo 20 and 22mm (in which order iam not sure)
Dunno what to do????
What do u think?

Is your car dropped on the floor, 'cos those drop-links look ready to break ?
As a compromise sell your "new" rear bar and try an ADJUSTABLE 24mm rear bar ?

Now i'm totaly confused... , why the links are in the kind of position, can it be that the ARB is from a new age scoob or smthn, are there different from classic ones?

You've got alloy wishbones, and droplinks for steel wishbones.
I had similar droplinks from hardrace on my bug and they tried to pull the bushes out. When installing them you may have noticed that the holes on the wishbone seemed better suited to 10mm bolts whilst the bush only had an 8mm hole.
You need to get these droplinks...
Subaru Impreza 2001-2005 Front Link anti roll drop link on eBay, also, Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 06-Apr-09 18:26:54 BST)
or the whiteline or perrin equivalents. I personally wouldn't touch the whiteline ones with a barge pole as they are corroded to sh!te after only 4000 miles.

Thank you Jon
How do u think is it worth to keep the 22mm on front or is too much , i wanted 20mm front and 22mm rear, but the guy had 22mm front and 20mm rear , can't understand why he went for the kind of setup. Basicaly i got riped off i guess , So deciding what to do.... there were cheap 170 quid both of them , the only thing is he put wrong information when selling

Looking good geo, but PINK, yes I know, STI pink and not girly pink
My rears where new which is why I then did the fronts to match. I haven't done the trailing arms yet through. Didn't have the strength left to unseize the nuts after I got the lateral arms off
