Default Lowering? any help for a noob?

Hey guys, been thinking for a while now about getting my classic lowered. Ive been looking about and have no idea which makes/setups i should be thinking of?
Not after anything expensive (cheaper the better really) and dont know if its just a case of buying the springs and having them fitted, or do i need the shock absorber thingys as well Please dont flame me as i really dont know much about these beasts, i am however great at cleaning and polishing it
Just thought i'd get it done soon before i get a flock of birds nesting in my arches

Included this so you could see the gap
Any advise would be great

A few options on the spring front, it depends how much lower you would like the car...
Eibach, H&R, Whiteline all do springs that work well, as for shock absorbers, it depends on the condition/milage of the current ones.If a bit tired then it would make sence to be a new set at the same price. The P1/STi ones work well as do KYB AGX...

Thanks for the response mate, its got 66,000 on the clock, and i would like it about 3-4 cms lower, maybe a tad more,
but could that cause any scrubbage as it has 18's
If i were just to buy some springs that would lower by 35-40 mm without replacing the shock absorbers, do you think that would sufice

I think your motor would look really well once the front is dropped, i'd go for decent branded Lowering Springs, Tein are pretty good dunno if they do just springs though.

A very popular and probably proven way is to opt for the Eibach 20mm lowering spings on your dampers if good.

A big move forward would be a P1 set if in good condition or any Sti after V3/V4.
Your car is very very polished, but a tad tall!
