Default Strange 'Click' Noise..

Weird one this. Usually only happens once at the beginning of a journey. I pull to the end of the street where I live and brake gently. Just before the car stops, there's a kind of (single) 'click' that can be heard from the front passenger side suspension. Doesn't do it all the time. No effect on handling or anything. Has started in the last month or so.

Anyone?

Could be a drive shaft. They start off like that, but should have a far few miles left in it.

On a brighter note, it could be a ARB droplink

Hope this helps

Mine used to do this, turned out to be the droplink. It was split down the side, replaced with a uprated alloy one and no problems since.

Hopefully it is a droplink. I remember replacing loads on the Gti6 I had before. How much do you think with labour and all?

Cheers people.

Mine turned out to be the brake pad moving in the caliper. Is it a loud click audible both inside and outside the car?

They do move mate. Bit of copper grease may help. Mine tends to only do it when I'm in traffic and come to a very slow stop ie <5mph. Aftermarket pads as well which I think has something to do with it. Never had any issue with the oem Brembo pads

Yep. Seems only to come from the passenger side though. Will a bit of copper grease cure it? Had redstuff pads in before (****) but at least they didn't make this noise. Also, the pads are fairly new and didn't do this to begin with.

Weird.
