IMHO:
There will be little to gain if the rest of the suspension is using the stock rubber mounts.
If you install Polybushes then the brace will add to the package.

On the other hand, any chassis stiffening can be a Good Thing but for road use I rally doubt it.

I have one on my racing Sti V3.

Graham.

I had one but it can be grounded a little easily on speed bumps.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the replies. I think a rear anti roll bar will be a better option then(?).
Im after a good handling car and by good, i dont mean a hard/firm ride. The suspension on the car was on when it was imported and is too low and a bit firm, i think.
I cannot afford new suspension, yet, so am doing it bit by bit. Had the anti lift kit fitted and the geom done. Was thinking rear anti roll bar with uprated rear roll bar links next.
Advice would be greatfully received, but i dont want coilovers or excessively firm ride.

Many thanks.

Yes Bonz your thoughts are sound.
Go for a rear bar and solid drop links next, wont effect ride comfort.

off the top of my head £100 for the rear bar and £38 for the steel links (aluminium ones look nicer and seem stiffer but are £60.)

Thumbs up I HAVE ONE FITTED TO A TYPE-R

Mines fitted to a 1998 WRX Type-R with Proflex suspension I found it kept the front end suspension package tight, especially when pushed.

Its a good piece of kit if you accidently ground the underneath, better a piece of ally than the engine sump.

Easy to fit about 15mins when the car is jacked up.

With the MRT type you can.
There is also a version which allows the use of the stock cat downpipe.

I have Cusco. After fitted to Eibach/OE damper were great. Response like from new suspension. But...
We have here roads like your B road or worse and dampers cant cope with this. This is why I have Leda now...
So if you want it for OE suspension and bad roads, it will kill your dampers much faster, but you can feel it on every corner.

I have just fitted the Cusco four point 'H'-Bar to my MY00. All the underbody protection covers an be kept in place. I just needs a little bit of plastic cutting at one edge (described in the Cusco product package). I have fitted it with the rear lowar arm bar. So far I can only say that the car feels stiffer, more solid but (of course) not harsher.

In corners, the steering wheel feels like it wants to spin back to the straight position much faster and by itself. It just feels like you are driving on train tracks. This bar is light as hell! Good stuff and easy to mount. I cant see why it should kill the dampers much faster like mentioned above, since the bar is not directly connected to the dampers anyway.
