Mods, I appreciate this should be in 'Suspension', but its only had 8 hits in 2 hours! Yawn.
My problem....
I fitted the Prodrive springs to my STI 8 today and was wondering if anyone could advise me regarding the following....
The spring kit contains 2 small bump-stops, but the piston inserts on the STI shock absorbers are massive.... far too big for the bumpstops to go over them!
Why are bumpstops included if they won't go on the shocks?
I can't help feeling that something is wrong and/or missing, since surely Prodrive wouldn't include bumpstops if they weren't to be used?

Have you read the instructions??? You have to dissasemble the strut, remove the existing bump stop and replace it with the new one! Once you've pulled out the shock itself from the strut assembly (14mm nut on the bottom of the strut) all will become clear and obvious. Make sure the bump stop is on the right way round and on re-assembly make sure the piston rod clicks into position (turn it until it does) before replacing the 14mm nut.
Got a feeling you're going to have to take it all to bits again?? The standard bump stops will bottom too often if you don't bother.

Wonderful!
There were NO instructions or else I wouldn't find myself in this predicament!
You instructions kinda make sense... I assume you are referring to the front shocks as there are only 2 bumpstops in the kit?

No instructions? that's a bummer! They also give the recommended geometry settings front and rear. Prodrive need a b******ing!
I've done two (mine and my sons between us) and the bumpstops were a sort of "milky" colour. Front only.
Where are you? If you are anywhere near me pop over and compare ride height etc. if you want.

John, unfortunately I'm in Glasgow, but cheers for the offer anyway.
Don't suppose you fancy scanning the instructions and emailing me them?
I'm going to phone Prodrive on Monday and complain.
P.S. Were your springs red or blue?
