Cusco lower braces????

anyone fitted them to their car??? i'm looking at getting the four point front version and the two point rear version.
just wondering if they made a difference to your handling??
any help or recomendations would be great.

If you fit one, what ever you do dont have an accident
we stripped a scoob that had had one fitted, and had a bump on a roundabout,
Lets just say I will never fit one now, put me off for good
it helped to write the car off

the brace is mounted at 4 points
this was snapped in about 5 places, only two of the weld joins broke, the others where in the middle of the brace, and had kinked the chassis on the passenger side (the impact was on the drivers side)
luckily the wishbones werent damaged, but the bolt was a nightmare to take off, as the strut brace had wrapped around the nut

Front lower helps (as evidenced by the accident damage ), not convinced by the rear though. From memory the rear just bridges across the transmission tunnel by the rear diff, and I find it hard to believe it could help anything.
Be interested to hear from anyone who fitted one and thinks different though?

Stiffening the chassis and suspension with these braces helps to preserve the settings you have set up when you had the camber tracking etc. set.
But, as Sonic says, if you have an impact, where does the force go? The braces stop the impact spreading and hence do more damage to the local area.
When I rallied, my chassis builder refused to fully plate all the chassis legs or seam weld all the chassis joining points as that would leave no flexibility in the chassis to absorb a minor to medium bump, and hence write the car off.
I use a strut top brace, and was looking at rear brace, and the pair of under braces ... but not bought yet so will wait and see!

Have cusco top and lower front, but none at the back as when I track the car I fit a removeable rollcage which picks up on the rear strut mounts and is so much stiffer than any strut brace would be.
Front lower fits beautifully and has definitely stiffened the front of the car up, which I prefer especially when running slicks as the load is spread across the shell rather than just into one strut turret. On the road it probably promotes a bit more understeer due to the front stiffer than the rear, but it's sp marginal that to notice it you've got to be doing silly speeds and can be easily dialled out with tyre pressures, bumpsteer etc
