how much lower is a P1 than a standard UK MY99
#1
i've heard its about 20mm front and back, if i decide to drop it 20mm will i need to upgrade the shocks or are the standard ones fine. Which springs are the best to go for, i think most ppl go for eibach right ???????

Purely from what can be seen, the P1's are lower at the fri=ont, but about the same at the back, you don't say if you have a P1 or a my99, I have a my00 with standard shocks, but with Eibach springs, it's the best thing I did to the car, didn't lower it as much as I wanted, but looks good, and drives even better.

Lowered by about 15mm at the front, a little more at the rear, the rides a little firmer but not too bad, definately livable with, the way it goes round corners is good enough reason to live with it. Don't forget to have the geometry done after you've done the springs, it'll be all over the place!

ok i think ima get the eibachs, scoobynet does a good price, are they the same springs u got Ron, because it states that the car will drop by 30-40mm in the info.

I'm not sure the exact difference, but the P1 looks a lot lower at the front because of the splitter.
If I remember I'll check tonight as I have both !!

cheers dave, yeah the splitter on the p1 makes it look alot lower, but i dont think there is too much in it... i think we need to measure the diff between the floor and the top of the wheel arch..both front n back..
hopefully eibach's can get it down about 20mm,

RON: u said i would have to get the geometry done once i get the eibach springs in, should i let the springs settle in before i get the geomtry done, or doesnt it matter...
also i had a word with a local wheel alignment centre, and they said they can align the front up, but they said they cant do the camber on the back, and that i could get uneven tyre wear on the back....is that true??
