subarussion, as discussed on this thread here's my report back on the TSL geometry setup I had done this afternoon.

In a word - SUPERB!

Graham from TSL and I took the car out round the wonderful lanes around Keyworth after the work was done and the differnce was very noticeable!!
No more side to side kicks from the wheel under heavy braking and wonderfully precise turn in, with understeer much reduced... (or gone!)
The first sharp turn I took, I turned in a bit too tight, compensating for a problem that was no longer there!

Down the M1 afterwards, crusing in the slow lane with it's deep ruts from all the lorry's, the car went where I wanted it to and didn't follow the ruts as before.

This is a FANTASTIC was to spend £105 + VAT and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys blasting around in the Impreza!!

Cheers! So you just did the geometry, nothing else? Did they say if your old geometry was completly out? I had mine checked and set to Prodrive settings fairly recently so I don't expect to see a huge improvement from geo setting alone. However I do remember feeling like you describe on the first drive after the Prodrive geo settings

Enjoy it!

the geometry was not completely out at all. It was still well within factory tollerances. Don't know how close to the Prodrive settings though. But yes, that was the only thing I had done!! And for the moment, at least, I won't need anything more.

I don't know about prodrives geometry setup, but I think TSL's is more track biased(?). The miunte amounts TSL can adjust is scary. Something like 1/16th of a degree!!
Give them a call and speak to Graham or Paul to ask for full details if you need them.

I had the geometry adjusted on Friday. Cost 38 EUR. No comment.

I think it would be hard to have geometry outside the factory limits ... my hand book says toe, 0 degrees +/- 3 degrees!!!
When the Prodrive settings are 1mm toe in (each wheel) that works out at 16.9 minutes on a 16 inch wheel, would be a smaller angle for a 17 and greater for a 15.
I chose my own settings and it made a huge difference even though the original settings were well within tolerance, front offside
-35 mins ,front near side -5.

This 'side to side' wandering when braking -- is that bump steer? I get loads of that sort of thing under heavy braking.

Not sure exactly what bumpsteer is, but reading the powerstation website earlier today it would seem that their bumpsteer mod aims to (and does) the same think as TSL's geometry setup.

The difference is amazing. n the test drive Graham took his hands off he wheel under quite heavy braking and she stayed straight.
For this alone, it's worth it. Even without the advantage of no tramlining and MUCH sharper turn in.

I had Powerstation do the geometry and bumpsteer on my RB5 a couple of months ago. As above, huge improvement under heavy braking. Worth every penny.

Cool

Just had mine done by jeff fawkes, ibstock.
I use to get loads of bump steer, power understeer but not even left to right, tracking, alsorts, just crap. Running new 17" speedlines p-zero's new but badly balanced too! I decided jeffs was the place not cheap but well worth it. The wheels were balanced , replaced and the work started on the set-up. They did the check first then before they corrected anything they went through the set-up with me all displayed on the over monitor. Great it was the car was all over the place, The set-up showed the car was crabbing with odd camber settings at the front and toe out, the rear was out with uneven toe out.God knows, not something I've done.
Anyway they sorted the lot, they checked all the susp. for damage and found none so they set it up using prodrive settings but with a slight tweak to my taste.less understeer and nice power oversteer. All taking about 2 and an halve hours.A long time when your waiting for your toy but worth the wait.

OH YES NOW IT'S A SCOOBY!!!!!!!!!!!!!GET IT DONE.

Cheers

DoR.

Arwe your 17 inch wheels on standard suspension? I've been thinking of 17s , just scared of having to do the whole suspension . And want the bumpsteer done too, grrr.

Cheers, Cal

standard suspension, yes and it was great even before the geometry settings... now it's perfect.

There are far too many settings for me to go through and type them all in here... I'll try and scan the page in at work and post it here....

Were you scanning in greyscale as this would probably be better than colour - also try adjusting the contrast of the image once it's scanned, which should bring the text up a bit.

When I can be arsed (sorry i'm tired) I'll post the settings they use if you're interested. Don't understand a word of it myself, just know what it feels like to drive.
