Bugeye Rear Shocks Knocking

Bugeye Rear Shocks Knocking
I'm having an issue with my 2002 Bugeye WRX and I'm hoping someone can shed some light?
There's a bit of a story, I'll try to keep it brief;
At my MOT back at the beginning of September I got an advisory for a leaking rear shock, so I had them replaced. Almost immediately the passenger side one started knocking/clunking. I ignored it for a while, but eventually the drivers side started and was louder than the passenger! I asked my mechanic friend what it could be and he suggested the top mounts. He was a bit booked up, so in the meantime I sprayed the top mounts with Lithium Grease which helped to quieten them down a bit.
The top mounts were replaced yesterday and immediately the passenger side one was knocking like mad, drivers side knocking but not as bad.
Today I took out, cleaned and greased the rear drop links, sprayed the shock strut with grease and again sprayed the top mounts. None of this has made any difference!
I've also checked all bolts in the area, all of which are tight and had a good look underneath to see if anything is loose, which it isn't.
Can anyone suggest anything that I could try? It's driving me absolutely insane!!!
