Are these the early or late v3 heads as im sure the version 3 was the year they crossed over so they could be either, the early heads wont fit the later model cars.

Those aren't sti heads mate, the cams should have two lines, one in the middle and one going through first letter.

I'm out, sorry chap.

Not necessarily....

https://www.scoobynet.com/727812-let...-a-game-3.html

They are deffo STI heads, under bucket shims and the right codes on the valves.

Looks like they are sti4 heads/cams not sti3

Yeah I think your right actually, there seems to be a little confusion on the single line cam but still under bucket heads, as you say maybe std v4 sti or type r heads had the single lines??

Confusion is the right word Davey, we all know how Subaru parts do not make sense, wrong models codes, CDB's without cross hatchings near the crank sensor, ODB's with under piston squirters and the general census on this board that the Spec C engine is the strongest Subaru engine when infact its no different to any Newage STI engine of the same year!

These are the 3rd set of STI heads now that i have come across(another 2 sets on here) with only 1 line through the casting...coinicidence? people removing STI cams and replacing them with WRX cams? or the "2 lines" on the cams is not entirley true?

I will whip the cams out and measure the lobes, i can compare them to some V2 WRX and V2 RA cams i have.
