Default MY’99 classic turbo wagon - £375 – Donor, spares or repair, drive away

My virtually one owner MY’99 Turbo 2000 classic wagon must go. £375

I love it but the problem is that it has low compression on one cylinder. I don’t know whether it’s rings or a valve. It drives virtually as normally, it starts, runs and revs and pulls but has a slightly lumpy idle.

It’s on high miles (155k) but it’s been looked after and pampered all it’s life and comes with full service and 22 stamps; all bar one by my local Subaru main dealer and the other by PowerStation in Tewkesbury.

I purchased it in 2000 when it was 11 months old and I’ve used and enjoyed it ever since. If I recall correctly, she’s the 4th longest owned Sube on ScoobyNet at nearly 13 years with the same owner. She still rides, steers and handles beautifully.

She has the usual little faults commensurate with age and usage: one or two car park panel dinks, a windscreen chip (top, behind rear-view mirror), slight (slight) rear arch bubble and some tiny bonnet stone chips.

The car comes with a full folder of bills, receipts and MOT certs, three keys & fobs and the original owner’s manuals.

Even though it’s a 3rd car most wear and tear parts have been replaced or reconditioned with over £3,000 spent in the past 22 months/6,000 miles including a new clutch, cambelt, discs, calliper, wheel bearing.

The car is virtually original with the only changes being a panel filter and a 3-port boost solenoid and one OEM brake caliper. Everything still works, even the air conditioning which runs nice and cold.

I’d get the engine re-built myself but I’ve recently funded a 2.1 stroker with supporting mods on my WRX Bugeye wagon and it’s asking for another turbo upgrade and I can’t make the case for modding both.

The MOT runs to 18th July, tax ‘til August 2013. So if you’re quick you’ve time to shop round for options if you’re not looking to break or use for spares.

I’m asking just £375.

That’s probably less than you’d get for just the (recently replaced) wheels and Toyo Proxes tyres (4-5mm all-round), exhaust back box, coil pack and leads, PFR6B spark plugs and (dealer-optioned) boot liner, rear bumper guard, dog guard if you were to break it yourself.

Stupid, I know but I’d rather someone drove and enjoyed her for the last 6 weeks of her life than leave her sat there before before she heads for the breakers.

I’m near Brecon, South Wales (strangely enough).

It was good meeting you and family, Ryan.

All the very best with the car, whatever you decide to do with her!

Yes, good spot.

She's been in these parts a while but she didn't get out very much lately.

You on the hill yourself?

Sam

In laws living about 500yds below where you took them pics! Know all that area very well, often up there on the quad or with the dogs. Living in town myself.

Haven't seen your other wagon about though?you may have seen my Saloon about, it rarely moves though so you probably haven't!

I've glimpsed you on the A40 once or twice.

My other wagon isn't that easy to spot. It's into its cruise at between the speed of light and Warp Factor 9. So it's not always visible to the naked eye!
