Default v4 type-r

Hi all after much deliberation i am putting my v4 type-r up for sale i purchased it from snet from fellow member trinity here is one of the ads i see when i got it

http://www.subaru-impreza.org/forum/...-v4-black.html

there is the original post on here somewhere ile pop it up when i find it it is still in the same spec etc as ad but the engine has a knock on cold start up so i had a oil pressure gauge fitted and pressure is low neil at slowboyracing told me the engine is on its way but its a question of when btw neil can vouch for car so i was in two minds to rebuild or sell i wanted more power i.e 350-400bhp i am looking at 8k+ so thought it better to buy a type-r already done to that spec the car is sorn at mo on july 1st last year it had a c+d service new rocker cover cam belt and pullies drive belts front and rear brakes and pads front lower ball joints aswell it was a short while after the knock was noticed and oil gauge fitted it has also had a nearly new sti top mount in perfect condtion added the car has mot until april this year its had 8 former keepers i will be so sad to see her go as ive always wanted a black r but cant justify spending 8k plus on a car thats cost me over 5k to start with ive tried to be as honest as i can but i do stress engine WILL need a rebuild a some point i will put a new battery on her as other one will be dead any questions are more than welcome if theres anything ive missed.

thanks for looking

ian

p.s mileage is currently 141k

price im after is 3500ono

The engine is not really worth anything in present state may get a few quid if you strip bits off it. The Market is not good at the moment before the engine started knocking you'd get 4 to 5 grand if lucky. To sort the engine properly is big money as you know so I can't see you getting 3500 for it unless you break it.I think at most it's worth 2500 as if you look around you can get one for 3500 with no engine issues.

Ian, the best way to shift it will be to break it mate. I hope you do get it sold though. I remember chatting to you when you were on about buying one. Have you called API to see what options they have sitting on the shelf?

Isn't the knocking on start up just piston slap?

That engine hasn't done many miles either has it?
