Default A question about your flaps :)

Nothing to do with your other half im afraid...

I was looking at getting a set of black mudflaps, but im a bit worried that I'll reverse up a kirb one day and catch them/rip them off....

Anyone had this sort of problem?

I suppose I could just remember not to reverse up the kirb!

I think it depends how low they sit, I had some and never had a problem but two mates managed to rip theirs off.could always fit a wire from the flaps onto the bottom of the bumper/sill to stop them folding under

Mine are the performance creations ones and i did once catch one reversing up a kerb after i missjudges the gap and went up the high part instead of the drop kerb.

Pulled the bracket off from one of the fixings are bent it. To be honest unless your trying to reverse up full size kerbs you'll not have a problem

Is there a real 100 quid difference between the "standard" and "performance flaps?

Performance Creations Kaylan flaps are really really good and I have never had any hanging/catching issues.

I used to have a problem with catching kerbs. I suggest you mount the rear flaps a bit higher than the forward ones (I have sometimes rubbed them against kerbs but never got them caught). Although, if you would run with very big tyres, like full-stud rally tyres, the rear WILL get caught if you reverse in deep snow or similar!

I have black prodrive 1's on my 53 wrx sti and I managed to rip off my rear right 1 as I reversed into my driveway all because I was pissed off at my boyfriend! So not worth it!

Anyone know where I can get 1 mudflap from...?!

My advice would be not to drive when ur angry and you wont have a problem with the flaps.

I have black prodrive flaps from Scott Lowe, very good quality. Mine are on lowers setting, not a problem, although catch all the time when cornering as only sit about an inch of the ground, but they are very robust and durable, they simple will not mark hehe cool eh

Tip.......Dont reverse too close t kerbs and no chance of gettign damaged/ripped off

I have had a set on my GC and my GD. Both I have been backed up in to the curbing. The GC's accualy pulled the bumper off the car OOPS ... and the GD ones just pulled off..those i rebolted with larger washers.. but both work great.. If i have the car loaded the rears drag on the ground. but they do an excelent job of keeping the crud off thecar
