Default Sti 6 Splitter protector needed?

Hi,

I am about to buy an Sti 6 splitter from my local dealer for just over £100, thing is, as part of the parts needed list:

57796FA530NN - Spoiler x 1 @ £95.85
57728AC090 - Bumper Clip x 2 @ £0.66
57798FA100 - Protector x 1 @ £23.78
57728FA080 - Screw Grommet x 9 @ £0.38
904560009 - Screw x 9 @ £0.13

I need a protector which I have found to be a bit of rubber that sits between the splitter and the bumper to "protect" the bumber.

As it is nearly £30 including the VAT I was wondering if some thin rubber I have at home (I knew the bondage gear would come in handy one day ) or some silicone sealant would do the job and save me £30?
