IMPROVING FACE OF 03 WRX
There is somethig not quite right about the styling of the front end on the 03 WRX. What have people done to improve it, can you get the STI bumper from an aftermarket supplier and fit, i know you can buy the bonnet scoop. Has anybody fitted the Zerosports airdam?

Fitting Prodrive springs helps the looks by lowering the front,so less gappy under the front lip.Does a good job on the handling as well.
I also put on a home grown front stainless mesh grill combo to fill in the black hole at the front. Not to everyones taste, some hate it but most people at the shows I have done liked it.Each to their own & all that.I like it & that's what counts.
Before . . . . .
. . . . . & after
Different bumpers/splitters/front lips etc all come out a lot of money by the time they are painted & fitted. And then do you leave them on come sale time.May limit your potential buyer pool. There again may add value to car if you find the right buyer.Tricky choice to make for me so I kept it simple.

Detango'd, Subaru lower front grille, MRO top grille. Next will be either Lester or TRU front splitter. Might put fog covers and STi bumper end trim on, if I don't get driving light upgrade.

Thanks for the pictures guys - particularly like the mesh effect on the radiator ducts and the STI front bumper splitters. I want to keep the fogs although I might upgrade to the Subaru driving lights but I think a combination of the above will give the front end a less pointed look. Where can I get these bits from and for how much. Are they easy to fit? Has anybody thought about fitting the STI scoop, i think u can get this from Jap Innovations?

Same bumper, just has those "aero extensions" Aero my @rse
IIRC they're about 160 quid from Subaru, require a small slot to be cut into existing WRX bumper to fit. Fog covers about 60 quid. All come prepainted with any graphics already on.

Stainless mesh (from Halfrauds) & stainless surround tig welded to it so it will not rust. The top grill was easy to fit as once its unclipped off the car the old mesh is held to a frame by 4 or 5 clips & is tucked round a few hooked posts. You just cut the new mesh to slightly bigger than the old & put on by doing the reverse of getting the old one off. Then trim any surplus off round the edges with wire cutters before refitting the frame to the car.
Bottom grill needed a template making up to get the size & shape spot on.The frame was bent to fit round the outside edge of the template. The mesh was cut to fit the frame then Tig welded every other wire onto the frame.Four wires spaced evenly along the bottom edge are left untrimmed & locate the bottom of the grill into holes drilled in bumper. Then drill one hole either side of number plate & locate grill with stainless fastener.
Job done.My m8 in the link above has a template for 03 & classic & did the welding & shaping & fitting. £120 all inc.

Just gone out and ordered a set of fog lamp covers, STI bumper splitters and the STI scoop - should arrive Thursday. All I need now is to get them painted (black mica) and fitted. Any advice on fitting the fog covers and splitters gratefully received.

Fog Light covers, simply remove the original fog light surround with a flat screwdriver(cover with a cloth so not to scratch). There is 2 small 'slots' to lever and it pops out easily. Get the covers and clip into place, takes about 30 seconds

Mega - is that your car, It's the look I want to achieve, who makes the front lower splitter? Die you fit the corner splitters yourself if so any advice on how to fit? Richiewong - thanks for the info on fitting the fog light covers, do the STI's have the actual fog lights fitted behind the covers or is it just an air duct? How much would it cost to get this lot sprayed - £150????

Fog covers come painted and decal'd (no, STi's don't have fogs). I believe it's the same for the corner splitters. The scoop needs spraying IIRC, whether it's from Subaru or aftermarket unless you get Scotts carbon jobbie then you leave it carbon The carbon scoop and splitter that Megabusa shows are from Scott Lowe (Scott Lowe IS Megabusa).

Have got an STI 8 03, and am doing the whole hog on the front end of the Impreza. Have already got silver mesh front and lower grills, completely de-tangoed with HID kit fitted.
Next plan which will be on in the next month or less, is a new bonnet with vents up the sides, carbon scoob, new air dam, with carbon fibre insets, followed round the car by thicker part carbon fibre side skirts, and lower rear corners.
Will hopefully look amazing, combinning this with getting the car lowered, and eventually adding some new 18 inch alloys, once the exisiting rubber has worn out on the 17s.
The first showing of all the new bits, if you don't see me driving about, will be the poser's cruise to southend in April, but will try and post some pics up here before hand.
Enjoy modding guys and I'll chat to you all soon.
