Milsport have just about finished their version, will be exactly same size as original STi8 version including width and depth so will actually sit over the small hole in the bonnet and look much more like the real thing.
imo if yours is the same size as an original you may as well fit the same scoop johnny sti did, as it only costs £45.

Barron,
The Milsport one does indeed fit over the bonnet but is moulded to the shape of the recess in the bonnet. therefore it is a perfect fit in the hole with the remainder sitting on top of the bonnet.
This is the only way of getting the overall size of an STI 8 style scoop as the original hole is not even half the size of the facelift classic, let alone the pukka 8 version.

cheers r&c but i don't like the idea of it sitting on top of the bonnet, if it warps or moves in anyway it may scratch the bonnet, if or when i remove it, i would need to have it painted?
i understand what you mean about getting the overall size of the sti8 but i'd rather have one that is a direct replacement in that, it has the same foot size as an original.
i was first toying with the idea of fitting the plastic one johnny sti did, but again i don't want it touching the bonnet over the hole.
cheers

IMO it's not about having the "overall size of a sti8" to fit over the hole but sti8 style scoop to fit in the pre97 bonnet, ets if you look in "new product's" has made another sti8 style slightly lower but retain the style and fit's the hole
