Cleaning your Scooby
When you feel it is time to wash your Subaru (impreza) what products do you use and what have given you the best results that have lasted until it is time for her next wash.
i would like to know because i have been using Auto Glym products - Bodywork Shampoo and conditioner,
Super Resin polish,
Car Glass polish,
Instant Tyre dressing,
Clean wheels and
Hydra Flexi Blade
I have since herd of SWISSOL
on the scoobyworld website
Are these products any better than the above mentioned?
if so what ones are the ones to go for to give that better than showroom look and protection! etc...
Thanks

I have a mobile valet bloke, that comes every 2 weeks for a wash and hoover.
Last week he diamon brighted the car again inside and out.
He then waxes it every 6 weeks.
Prices arn't to bad, £20 for the full wash and hoover
£120 for wash, hoover, and diamon bright inside & out.
£35 for wash, hoover & wax.
When I spoke to a dealer they wanted double his prices.
And now the motor is always shining bright
Anyway I think he uses autogleam stuff

used auto glym for 6 months, spent the last 6 months trying to remove the white residue it left every where
now i use Meguiars 3 step system without the wax ( i finish it off with swissol)
spent all day doing it today and now its raining lol
I do the whole lot 3 times a year, but give it a wax every month - Love it, have had nurmours people mention how the car always looks like it come from the showroom, the best bit is you only need to give it a quick once over every week to keep it looking good
I would say swissol dosn't look any better than auto glym but just lasts twice as long which helps justifiy the extra cost

I use Swissol and wouldn't personally use anything else I bought a kit a few years back (via a group buy) and apart from shampoo I am still running with basically the same kit.
The wax is a doddle to use and every car I have used it on has come up very very well indeed.

Down to personal preferences I suppose.
I used to swear by Autoglym, but once I got the Swissol there's no way I'd go back. It's expensive to start with, but after that it's not too bad.
In comparison with Autoglym you'll get a much shinier car and none of that carppy white residue. It also lasts longer.
I've no experience with Megieurs (sp?)

What Swissol WAX products do you use?
Onyx wax,
Samurai Wax,
Saphir Wax,
Scuderia Wax,
Mystery Wax
on the Scoobyworld website the Samurai wax is "Swissol Samurai wax is specially formulated for post 1998 Japanese vehicles, including Subaru"
is this the one to go for?

I use Shield Wax with Teflon, which I got on a group buy. To get the full effect you'll need
* A clay bar to remove the crud
* Cleaner fluid - to remove more crud
* The wax
I bought a starter kit which also included towels and tyre dressing engine bay cleaner. IMHO this would be the way to go - paid about £170 a couple of years ago

Scoo8Y mad what colour is your car ?
If its a light colour such as silver there is no point spending £1280 on Divine wax
Yes it will last longer due to the amount of Carnauba wax but the light refraction from a silver car will mean that the cheapest wax Ie a Onyx wax from Swissol will give the same results as far as finish goes
However darker cars really do show up the difference in the quality of the wax used
As the others have said if you are going to valet the car properly you need a minimum of car bath & cleaner fluid too ! & maybe a clay bar depending on the state your car is in
Hope that helps

I gave my sccob the Meguairs 3 step treatment 6 months ago, and the rain still beads like I did it yesterday
It would be even better If I'd did it properly too.
Although I'm more than pleased with the Meguairs stuff, I'll be trying something else next time just for a change, probably Swissol.

technically, IIRC it isnt a wax but a polish designed to refract light to give the awesome wet look.
