i must admit i like the new scoop on the 3rd version of the impreza, does anyone know if this will fit the claaic shape or of anyone doing a snide version to fit me car

No it won't fit.
But we'll soon have a 60mm high (STi 7 size) to fit bonnets from 1997-2000 on the Classics.

One of my mates is looking into developing an STI7 & 8 scoope for all classics pre & post facelift.

Thanks for the e-mail about this Fergal.

I don't have too much more information just yet. We tried the pre-production version on a facelift bonnet in March, and they fitted perfectly. All that was still to be done was finish the fixings so they were a straight over swap.

We are looking at splitters for them, obviously without one the majority of air goes to the rear half. So we have sourced 3 way splitters which will be available as an extra.

Just now they will only be for 1997-2000 bonnets.

From memory, without going to get a measuring tape the standard scoop is about 40mm high.

As soon as we have them here, they will be added to our web-site.
