Default Jack Wilshere - What am i missing ?

As per the title, I just don't see what is so special about him, let alone him being the next gazza as some commentators seem to believe?

Another over-rated Arsenal player. An arsenal fan will probably be along in a minute to tell us he's better than Jesus.
He'd probably be better if he'd gone elsewhere.

Good player if he could stay fit I think he would become the great player that they think he is

I'm a Gooner and think he's massively overrated. As it seems with all Arsenal players he has huge fitness problems and so never gets any form.

Something is being done very wrong at Arsenal to get so many injuries all the time.

It's not just Wilshere though, I look at the England team and the entire lot are a bunch of wimps. I look back at the England era of Terry Butcher and his blood stained bandage and being tough as nails. Back then we had a defence that wasn't afraid to get stuck in and do it's job. It's about time English football started producing tough players again, not the ones we have now that get blown over by the slightest breeze and then take 2 months to recover.

It's about time England started producing players full stop, this week has shown what a small pool we now have, if you're English there is every chance you'll get a cap.

Kyle Walker for example would never have got near the England squad let alone the team 10 years ago, bloody awful right back, a small amount of pace and bugger all else.

When I think of some of the better players that didn't get enough or any caps at all back in the day, Le Tiss, Hoddle, Bruce as a brief example, we'd happily take them at their prime now, nowadays if you're fit English and play in the Prem you'll be selected for the squad. Some promissing youngsters in the U-21's but I aint holding my breath Mr Dyke

BTW when I said some commentators are saying JW is the next Gazza I meant in the sense of being the next big English player, certainly not in skill and ability that would have just been stupid there is no comparisson

Are you guys joking ?
Have you seen the comfort he has while in possession of the ball?
This kid is young get off his back!
He's made it , into a premier top 4 team he's British even better English
So what's the problem?
Yes he gets injuries so does Rooney maybe we should feed them whatever messi is on as he never seems to get injuries and gets kicked as much as these two.
And I'm a Wednesday boy so not arsenal at all as they kicked our *** twice at wembley in both cup finals.
But I think if he keeps fit he's great and 1 st class although young so sometimes ***** up
IMHO

I rate him rather highly as a prospect. That's coming from a Man U supporter.

Me too, then you see him driving about in an Overfinch the kid has just broken into the first team, clearly he's already arrived in his own mind.

Seen him give it away and lose it a lot.

The **** system doesn't give him time to be comfortable as he's already made a short pass to Arteta.

Not on his back, I just dont believe the hype.

He could become a top player I think but he doesn't seem to have the talent of Gazza.

There's a lot of hype and pressure on decent England players.

For those defending him I tell you what compare him against the best midfielders in top national teams such as Spain, Argentina, Germany, Italy etc and then tell me how Wilshere compares.

Not such an amazing talent when put in context is he?!

For the record I hope he does come good both for Arsenal and for England but at the moment it's all unjustified hype until he has proven himself a lot more, gained some form by playing regularly and sorted his injury issues.

As already said above Messi doesn't seem to be injured all the time and miss huge chunks of the season every year and he is probably the most tackled/targeted player in football so why does every Arsenal player suffer lots of injuries that keep them out for months at a time.
