Thats a great car as an introduction to the world of scoobs! I think the price is a fair one, it's a fairly rare model with a decent standard spec. A car is only ever worth what you're willing to pay for it.
Good luck with the car Brian, get some pics up as soon as possible so the modification pervs on here can suggest what to waste your money on next!

The cheapest Iv seen one go for is about £19.5k, not sure year & mileage.
The only one that went for a couple £k less than market value was the press/demo one on reg plate BJ06 or something, its the reg plate you see on all press pics & you tube videos & first one made.

An alterantive:in the for sale section on here is a 2007 low miles Sti SpecD in grey for £14k ono.
Buy it for approx £13.5k & then spend:

£700 wheels
£1,300 exhaust & remap to anything upto 360bhp
£500 Prodrive springs & rear strut brace
£2500 Total

Say you buy the car above for £13.5k add the £2.5k on mods = £16k total

£21k less £16k = £5k saving.

Saying that you could probably pick up an already done up 2007 sti for approx £15k
Saying that youd probably lose less in depreciation over the years on an RB320 than an sti!!!!!

Budgie is 'spot on'
Great car, rare, all the power you need and no need for any 'mods' to boot.
Just get in and drive 'n' smile
You'll love it for sure

There's a massive Subaru tunnel run on the 24th if you wanna dive straight in and mingle with a huge amount of other scoobys
