I used to go Banger racing at Wimbledon with me old man many many many moons ago ( it was only a few quid for 3 people to get in)(god knows how much it is now £15 per person???). I would have gone to this but Ive got to go to a christening, cant get out of it I'm the God father

LOl...yeah, prices have gone up since then ! I believe the WFinal is about £15 but then it's the biggest event of the year for the bangers

Have they got a destruction derby WC? The stocks are good to watch but everyone loves a good ol' DD

Justin, DDs are a dying breed - with the time taken to prepare cars and the costs etc, many drivers don't show for a DD. That said the WF normally has one, just depends how many come out for it !

So there isn't Banger racing anymore? Is it just the stock cars these days?

I remember when they used to have just the oval track, then they went to the Figure 8 track which was great for Banger racing.

Banger racing up and down the country is still very popular...normal oval / fig 8 races. DDs (destruction derbys where the last car moving wins) are a bit thin on the ground...if that makes sense !
