My 2005 UK Spec 3.0 Legacy Spec B is blowing from the notorious y joint and seems to have a leak at the central resonator.
So looking at a cat back replacement.
Power gain would be nice but not vital. But really don't want much extra noise over the OEM system.
Having shopped around my options appear to be:
Subaru OEM
Hayward & Scott
MagnaFlow
All the above coming out around the £1200 mark
Powerflow which seems to vary dramatically from £650 - £1100 depending on franchise in my area.
I know Powerflow tends to have divided opinions, but on a car only worth a few grand £650 is quite appealing but wondering if might be a false economy.
Would appreciate any insight. Also recommendations in the Berkshire/Oxfordshire area.
I had a full Milltek on my Legacy GT Spec B (2 litre twinscroll) - bit louder than stock, made a huge difference to power output with a custom remap. AFAIK, they don't do one for the 3 litre
I've had a 2nd car delete pipe fitted at Hayward and Scott and was impressed at the service.

Also, being a naturally aspirated car you're not going to see huge power gains unless you really make it loud...

Don't know IMASAF. Italian and seem to do quite a lot of OEM Fiat/Alfa. Most of the ebay listing seem to be German or Polish aftermarket. so maybe this one is a better bet.

Powerflow do seem to get a bad rep, but fyi, i had a very similar issue a few years ago with my 2.0RE. Y piece was beyond repair and centre section was pretty goosed ...... sounds like the same situation your in.
A standard subaru replacement was extortionate and the car wasnt worth enough to warrant something fancy.
I got a local powerflow agent to knock something up for a budget price. I didnt want any change in note, just needed an exhaust as it was just a runabout.
Anyway, cutting to the chase i was pleasantly suprised. If anything it was neater than the OE job it replaced.

Cambs Stuarts's ebay link is for a 2.5. The 3.0 has a different part number. Have to say they look identical.
Have also found a local stainless system off a breaking 2.5.
Does anyone know if 2.5 systems work with a 3.0 or are they different in either fit or function.

I went from the 2.0re to the 3.0 pec b and tried to swap the power low stainless across. Fit was the same but flange at the front is athe a different angle.

So (assuming the 2.0 and 2.5 are the same as both 4 cyl) it sounds like the system is not compatible with an H6 3.0 without some modification.
Id say thats probably the case. However the modification might be just a rotation of the front flange, so cheapest option could be to get the exhaust anyway and pay someone like powerflow to mod the front flange rather than paying them to make a complete new system.
Also, as for power gains, you wont be seeing any without the map being fettled. And then, you wouldnt see any improvement over the same map fettle on a standard exhaust.
Thanks for the ebay links, its an idea but although quite handy with a spanner, my days of fitting exhausts myself are behind me and don't really have a friendly garage to do it!
So, been for two quotes now Enigmatec in Slough, Powerflow agent £650 and Profusion also near Slough £1350 Magnaflow.
Both seem to know their stuff and and although the Magnaflow does look a better product (the silencers are much heavier!) I am thinking Powerflow is the way to go for my old Scooby which I will realistically only keep for a year or two longer.
