Hi Daphne - glad everything worked out for you with this. Can I ask where you had it fitted? As you know, Max did a grand job on our MY02 WRX wagon.

Incidentally, the beep reminder comes as a shock the first time it happens! Especially when you're used to a vehicle without.....

Cheers, Harry.

Harry Boy - actually used Mo-tec in York, who were really good, very helpful and did full checks before and after fitting the alarm (which was good considering my experience of another company in a similar area!). Can really recommend them - easier for me to get to than Leeds and, being a girlie, a good place for a day's shopping too

Yes, the bleeps did come as a shock! I'm remembering now though...

Anyone who hasn't looked into the system, it is amazing - it's an anti-hijacking system, which lets the (potential) thief take the car and then cuts out after a few hundred yards - not posting any more details, but do ask your local fitter - Can recommend Neil in York or Harry Boy will direct you to 'Max' in Leeds.

Thanks again

Question

How much did the system cost to buy and have fitted. Is it compatible with the standard subaru sigma m30 alarm?
Cheers.

Hi Daphne - you're right. no matter how many times you've used the system, there's always going to be one day when you forget! But, as we've said, the bleeps are there to remind/shock you.

Scooby_Freak - sorry Mate - can't really tell you too much about it, except that it lets the car be driven a safe distance away then, unless you disarm the system, the engine will stop, the tail lights flash, and mayhem break loose. Oh, and unless you know what to do, you'll never start the bug**r again!!

If you're serious about it, have a word with your local Clifford ma. Try Max if you're in the North - 0113 244 1448.

Mark - I'm sure it's compatible with most/all popular alarms, including the standard IM fit stuff.

Mine was fitted as part of the All Singing - All Dancing Clifford 600 unit, so I'm not really sure on cost as a separate unit. Go for it though - you won't regret it if you're even slightly worried about the 'scum' out there!!

Mark
It cost £160 individually. I've got a different cat1 alarm on mine (European import)and it's compatible with that, did also read on here previously that it's compatible with Sigma, but check that out first.
Mo-tec number 01904 659407.

Looking at front page of Yorkshire Evening Post this evening (though ill-informed as I didn't read the article) - pleased I've got it fitted...

You're welcome Max! Just don't let it go to your head, otherwise you'll have to get the roller shutter doors widened.....

I kinda need to know how it works before I get one! Is it something like you have to throw a secret switch a few times after the door has been opened, and that there are beeps to remind you to do this?

If it is simple to defeat, then how to do so will become common knowledge pretty soon - so spill the beans and help me decide!

Cheers

Bit more than that Diesel - not gonna say any more on the Web. Chat to a dealer, or better still, visit to have a look. Suffice it to say, only the driver will know how to disarm it.....
