Max demonstrated this to me on my own MY02. Works a treat - no problems at all.

The only time you can corrupt the eprom in the alarm using the Wizard software is by booting up or shutting down the PC whilst having the data port plugged in, or disconnecting the port while still in programming mode. In other words, there is only human error that can cause any problems (-:

Wasn't checkpoint was it Si ?

They installed my Concept 300 and it has given problems for the last two years (It's just gone again).

Does anyone know how you can get their standards checked, as from what I can see, the control unit has been cable tied to the steering column. I've asked several times and I keep being told that it is attached correctly.

It was them, and they made a hell of a mess of my dashboard

They stuck the LED on with super glue and it leaked everywhere, ended up sorting it myself cos I thought they would make it worse.

I almost got checkpoint to fit an alarm for me but the information they gave didn't seem to make sense according to the Clifford web site. I decided to travel all the way down to Max in Leeds to get mine done and a top job he made to. I'm glad I did now!! I think you need to contact the VSIB to get there standards checked.

Question

does anyone have the optional DataPort fitted to their clifford system ??

I asked the local installer about it and they said that they do not recommend fitting it as the CliffNet Wizzard software has been known to corrupt the Firmware/software in the alarm. Just wondering if this is common or if it was a one off and now they don't like fitting them.

Stuart
